Preschools
The South County Family YMCA provides preschool programming for children ages six weeks through five years in a setting characterized by warmth, personal respect, positive support and responsiveness. We currently have three locations to serve the community’s early childhood care needs: the Venice YMCA preschool, Jelly Bean Junction at the South County Resource Center and the Preschool On The Island.
The goals of the YMCA preschools are to support and assist parents, to strengthen parent-child relationships, and to increase the importance of the family unit.
Our preschool is proud to provide caring role models and age appropriate experiences that nurture your child’s growth, encourage positive behavior and help them to develop a strong sense of right and wrong. The South County Family YMCA’s Preschools and Childcare Centers offer center-based learning programs. The children learn by engaging in a variety of positive experiences based in play. Our curriculum emphasizes the four key areas of development: cognitive, social, emotional and physical through developmentally appropriate experiences.
- Learning centers and experiences include:
- Imaginative play
