Venice & Englewood Sharks Masters Swimming

We are proud to be part of the YMCA family and affiliated with one of the top age group swim teams in the country. Sharks Rule! The age group Sharks have been around since 1961, so they have had plenty of time to rule the pool. But our Masters program is fairly new and we are already garnering some impressive awards. We have quite a few swimmers who are ranked Top Ten in the country in their age groups, and some All American (ranked #1 in the country) as well. We have won several national championships within the YMCA organization and we are growing all the time.
To be a part of our team, you MUST be a registered United States Masters Swimming (USMS) member. Log on to our team web site, www.sysm.org, and the link to the USMS online registration page is on our front page. Be sure that you designate your team as SYSM. Also, make sure you print a hard copy of your membership card; you will need it when registering for meets or traveling to other pools.
Lastly, as a team member, you are strongly encouraged to attend our two annual host events. These events raise money for the team and we need your support! You can attend as either a competitoror or volunteer. The events are the Bumpy Jones Classic LCM meet in June and the Daiquiri Deck Tropical Splash Open Water Swim in October. Please try to keep your schedule open for these two extremely fun team functions.
Venice & Englewood Sharks Masters Swimming
Masters Swimming is an organized swim program for adults 18 years and older with workouts designed to accomodate all levels. This program allows swimmers to prepare for Masters swim meets or just stay in shape.
Please note this is not a learn-to-swim program
Membership Requirements
US Masters Swimming Membership ($33.00/year) for those wishing to compete
Coaching fees $25.00/month
Walk-in fees $5.00/practice

Venice YMCA Practice Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 5:30am-7:00am
Englewood YMCA Practice Schedule: Tuesday,Thursday & Friday 5:30am-7:00am
