The staff at the YMCA is excited to provide a safe, fun and stimulating gymnastics environment. This is mirrored through the teaching philosophy that every participant is given the opportunity to reach his or her potential through professional instruction, respect for safety and a positive atmosphere. Proper progressions and progressive skill equipment are utilized to maximize this goal. Two locations serve the residents of Sarasota and Charlotte Counties
12 - week school year sessions 2008-09
Fall Session: September 2 - November 24
Winter Session: December 1 - March 7
Spring Session: March 9 - May 23

Venice Gymnastics
The Venice Branch of the South County Family YMCA is proud to host a 10,000 square foot, air-conditioned center that houses the gymnastics, cheerleading, and rock climbing programs. Dance takes place in the 2-newly renovated studios adjacent to the gymnastics center. A new pro-shop is designed for all athletes apparel needs. Classes are offered 6-days a week with birthday parties available on Saturdays and Sundays.

Englewood Gymnastics
The Englewood Branch of the South County Family YMCA offers gymnastics 2-days a week. The equipment is set up daily in the basketball gymnasium. All four women's disciplines are represented: vault, bars, beam and floor. Thirty-six feet of inflatable mats simulate a tumble trak which provides a fun & bouncy experience. Sized-down equipment offers a stimulating environment for preschool-age students.

YMCA gymnasts at AAU 2008 State Meet...
YMCA Gymnasts: Morgan, Gauthier and Kendrick Bring Home Gold
Lakeland, Florida played host to the 2008 AAU State gymnastics championships April 26th & 27th. Brittany Morgan, competing level 7, led the Venice YMCA Goldstar team with 3 first places finishes. Morgan placed 1st on beam (8.80), 1st on floor (9.225) and 1st all-around (35.40). Morgan is a sophomore at Pineview high school and also assists as a gymnastics instructor at the YMCA. Other Level 7 team members competing include: Carissa Davis, 2nd on beam (8.80), 2nd on floor (9.125) and all-around of (34.375), Olivia Kinney, 2nd on Vault (8.70) and 2nd on Floor (9.00) and all-around of (34.25), and Alyssa Freeman with an All-Around of (33.40).
