Eva Scherer - Wellness Director
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1994. I have lived in Englewood for three years. My previous career experience lies in the mental health field. I earned a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 1999 and worked for a community mental health agency for 7 years with children and families at risk. During my tenure with this agency, I was promoted to a training/human resource position which held company statewide and nationwide responsibilities. When I birthed my amazing daughter, Graceann, I stayed home with her full time for a few years. During this hiatus from work, I started a vigorous exercise program at the Englewood YMCA in an aggressive attempt to shed what felt like thousands of pregnancy pounds and this was a pivotal point personally and professionally as physical “wellness” became a new passion for me. I subsequently became employed by the “Y” in December 2004. My personal vision for our wellness center is to live and breathe innovation bountifully!
