2008 Englewood Triathlon- Event In Review!

July 19, 2008 - Geared up and ready to go, this high energy race weekend started with a delicious pre-race pasta dinner sponsored by Keith and Laurie Farlow of Farlow's On The Water. Participants enjoyed complimentary Pasta Alfredo, Pasta with Meat Sauce, Classic Ceasar Salad and garlic bread while picking up their race packets at the Englewood YMCA.The night was filled with excitement and confidence!

Following our traditional prayer and National Anthem, the race started promptly at 7:30 am with the first wave of athletes-l male 39 years and under. Volunteer, participants and participant supporters were serenaded with rock and roll style beach music by Jimi Banks. At the finish, racers were met with cold bottled water donated by Food Is Love and Symbiont Services, huge and yummy assorted pastries and bagels donated by Panera Bread in Sarasota and they were offered complmientary body massages by Fitness Quest. The awards ceremony was held at Farlow's On The Water where athletes were greeted with complimentary bottled water and sports drinks and a great atmosphere to chill out and get a delicious meal!
