Healthy Kid Membership at the YMCA- FREE
Begins September 15, 2008
As part of our Student Wellness Initiative and with the goal of improving the health of local families and kids, the South County Family YMCA has designed a new FREE membership type aimed at kids who want to begin leading healthier lifestyles. Our new Healthy Kid Membership is for kids in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
Parents, sign up your kids and they can begin participating, for free, in limited activities and facilities at the South County Family YMCA.
Kids must be accompanied by a parent when on the YMCA premises, so this isn’t a babysitting service. This is a genuine opportunity for kids to begin leading healthier lifestyles by participating in fitness activities specifically geared to them.
What can kids do at the YMCA?
As a Healthy Kid, your child can participate in specialty fitness classes at the South County YMCA, workout in our new youth fitness area and you and your kids can participate together in an entire year’s worth of special family events.
Healthy Kids can participate in:
- Youth Fitness Classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4—5:30 PM at the Venice YMCA. Classes include kickboxing, cardio circuit training, dance and other fun exercise classes!
- New Youth Fitness Area at the Venice YMCA. Kids can work out without parents in the area (but parents must be on the premises). Strength training equipment, cardiovascular equipment and balance/agility equipment will be available. Kids must take a mandatory orientation on the equipment upon signing up.
- Participate with their families in a year-long schedule of special events designed for Healthy Kids and Healthy Family members.
- Receive Member Rates on all programs including sports, gymnastics, afterschool, summer camps and wellness programs.
